Northern Spain is one of those places that more and more travellers are starting to discover, yet it still raises a lot of questions when it comes to planning it well. The connections do not always seem straightforward, distances can be misleading, and if you do not know the area properly, it is very easy not to know where to begin.

That is exactly why I created this guide: a route designed so you can start in Barcelona and travel across the north of Spain in a way that feels coherent, beautiful and authentic, connecting with the most traditional and special side of each stop.

*This itinerary is designed to be done in a minimum of 12 days, although if you can take longer, the experience will be even better. The route includes Barcelona, the Pyrenees, the Basque Country, Cantabria and Asturias, and ideally, once you reach Asturias, you would fly back to Barcelona to make the journey much easier and more comfortable.
